January 11, 2024 ReadTalkPlay Family Game Night Friends of the Children - Eastern Idaho hosted one of the games at December's ReadTalkPlay Family Game Night. Last month, before the holiday break, families filled Hillcrest Elementary School in American Falls for Family Game Night. This event, hosted by the American Falls ReadTalkPlay initiative, is an opportunity for children and their families to spend time playing games and laughing together. At the event, families visit multiple stations to learn and play a new game. They are also invited to take each game home with them, enabling the conversation, connection, and laughter to continue long past the event. Friends of the Children – Eastern Idaho hosted one of the games, encouraging children to build hand-eye coordination by bouncing ping pong balls into small containers of water. Many parents joined in the fun, encouraging and competing with their children before moving on to try their hand at other games. It was a lovely evening with our American Falls community! ReadTalkPlay is an initiative created by the American Falls School District and supported by the American Falls community to champion early childhood literacy. It recently expanded to Pocatello/Chubbuck and added 20 new partners across Southeast Idaho.
